Honeymoon Booking Tips

When booking for your honeymoon travel, check out legal, financial, and security concerns, especially if you plan to trot around other territories. What should you remember? Here are some:

1. Secure legal documents. Of course, you need to secure a passport and other identification in case authorities in the country you're visiting ask for such. Guard these documents with your life, as they may spell the difference between being safe and being sorry. If you may, remember to have copies of each document in case the original ones get lost.

2. Heed travel advisories. Unless you want to land on news headlines for being kidnapped or worse, tortured or killed by lawless elements, you must abandon the idea of entering a territory or country declared potentially dangerous for tourists. However, in case the travel advisory came out when you're already in the place, make sure to exhaust all possible means to get in touch with your country's embassy. If it's not convenient or possible to personally go there, find ways to get their contact details or simply leave your contact numbers and other important information. This way, you can easily ask for their help should an unexpected incident happens.

3. Seek the help of a well-known travel agency. A travel agency with an established name and reputation will assure you of a hassle-free honeymoon experience. Since they know about the best locations, the most affordable and competitive honeymoon package, or the best car rental companies, all you have to worry about is the amount you have to pay them.

4. Research for affordable hotels, great honeymoon packages, or cool destinations. In case you can't afford or you don't want the services of a travel agency, you may do an online search or even ask some of your friends or colleagues for referrals or suggestions. It's important that you take these into consideration since your enjoyment may depend on them.

Scout for hotels or resorts that offer low rates. There are hotels that offer decent accommodation and free meals at a very affordable price. Likewise, find a honeymoon package that will be worth your money. Check the meals, transportation provisions, hotel, or honeymoon resort reservations, toll fees, taxes, and the like. A good package include all of these at a reasonable price tag. You should also know how long your honeymoon will be, since the length or duration of a honeymoon has a corresponding price.

5. Determine when you want your trip to be and if you'll bring along some members of your immediate families. Setting a particular date for your honeymoon is particularly important for booking. Should you prefer to have it on a Caribbean beach during summer, it's advisable that you book months earlier for honeymoon cruises. This is particularly true with other famous summer get-aways such as Phuket, Boracay, or Ibiza, where people flock in hundreds to take a refreshing dip in their cool, pristine waters.

Should you decide to tag along your mother-in-law or some relatives, you have to declare it to the travel agency, so they can make prompt reservations and arrangements with the hotel or resort management that you'll stay in. Although a honeymoon is intended for the newly-weds to have a secluded and intimate time together, there may be instances when their immediate family members may come along on this trip. However, if you want to fully enjoy utmost privacy, see to it that your honeymoon suite is at least several rooms or floors away from your relatives'. You may politely tell them not to knock at your door if there's no important or urgent matter to discuss. Likewise, place the classic "DO NOT DISTURB" sign outside your suite's door, so no one will mess up your intimate moments with your partner.
